Designed, developed, and implemented an enterprise distribution and inventory management system for multiple distributors using Oracle 8 and Oracle Developer 6i. The solution covered inventory control, stock movement, purchase and sales processing, expense tracking, and employee management including payroll and salary administration. Built with strong database architecture and PL/SQL-based business logic, the system enabled accurate transaction processing, MIS reporting, and operational visibility across distributor operations, supporting scalable and ERP-style distribution workflows.

Enterprise Event Management & Registration Platform 2007 – 2011

Designed and developed an enterprise event management and registration platform for INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, supporting multiple large-scale conferences and exhibitions over several years. The platform enabled online, backend, and group registrations, customer self-registration, secure payment gateway integration, self-service badge and certificate printing with automated credit hour calculations, and dedicated on-site registration modules. It also included CRM functionalities, management and marketing reporting, and full event lifecycle management to support high-volume attendee operations. The core operational system was built as a Java-based desktop application, with customer-facing portals developed in PHP and supported by a MySQL database. Led the project as Senior Software Developer, contributing to system design, software development, database administration, system analysis, and implementation alongside other team members.

Aventri (eTouches) Event Management Platform Implementation 2015

Led the implementation of the eTouches SaaS-based event management platform following a structured evaluation of multiple solutions, selecting it based on business fit, scalability, and risk considerations as part of the organization's transition from an in-house system to an enterprise cloud solution. Owned the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution and go-live, managing scope, timelines, data migration, and coordination with internal stakeholders and the vendor. Enabled core platform capabilities including online and onsite registration, attendee management, CRM, email marketing, audience segmentation, reporting, analytics, and more. Led change management activities including user training, stakeholder engagement, and controlled handover to operations, ensuring smooth adoption and sustainable system usage across events.

Sage ERP Implementation & Cloud Transition 2015 – 2016

Led the organization-wide implementation of Sage ERP, managing the full lifecycle from solution evaluation and vendor selection to deployment and steady-state operations, in close coordination with finance leadership and key business stakeholders. The system was initially implemented in the on-premises data center, where I oversaw security controls, system configuration, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance to ensure stability and compliance. The ERP centralized core finance functions including procurement, payables, receivables, cheque processing, general ledger, statutory reporting, and financial analytics. I also coordinated integrations with internal CRM platforms to enable end-to-end financial visibility across departments. In 2024, I worked closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to support and execute the migration to the cloud, improving scalability, availability, and long-term operational efficiency while ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.

IT Infrastructure Implementation – INDEX Holding Headquarters 2016 – 2017

This project was initiated in 2016 and delivered in 2017 to design and implement a complete IT infrastructure for the newly constructed INDEX Holding headquarters in Dubai. The objective was to enable a smooth transition to the new facility while ensuring a scalable, secure, and fully operational technology environment from day one. The scope included structured cabling, enterprise networking, data center setup, servers, switching, firewalls, and a centralized Wi-Fi solution covering the entire building. Internet connectivity was established through Etisalat, followed by end-user migration from the old office to the new headquarters, ensuring uninterrupted business operations during the transition. The project also covered modernization of the existing voice and communication environment, meeting room technology setup, and deployment of building security systems including CCTV and access control. Delivery required close coordination with facilities, management, and business stakeholders to align technical designs with building constraints, operational needs, and organizational standards. The project was executed through structured planning, stakeholder engagement, phased implementation, and controlled migration activities, resulting in a stable and future-ready IT foundation for the organization's headquarters.

Event Management Application Development (Web + Mobile) 2017 – 2024

In 2017, the organization initiated the redevelopment of a fully in-house event management platform to regain control over customization, scalability, and data ownership after earlier use of both custom-built and SaaS-based solutions. I led the project from initiation through delivery to end users, managing the complete development lifecycle and supporting the team throughout planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization. The project was delivered using Scrum methodology, with structured sprint planning, backlog management, and regular stakeholder reviews to ensure continuous alignment with business objectives. The solution was implemented as a web-based platform with supporting mobile applications, providing role-based access for attendees, exhibitors, and internal teams. Key capabilities included online and onsite registration, exhibitor and attendee management, CRM and marketing workflows, SMS and email integrations, task and checklist management for event execution, data segmentation and merging, and integrated communication features such as click-to-call initiation directly from the platform. The system covered all core functionalities expected from a modern event management solution while remaining adaptable to business-specific workflows. The platform was built using PHP and MySQL on AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines to support scalability, reliability, and continuous delivery. Cross-functional development teams based in Pakistan and the UAE worked collaboratively across analysis, development, quality assurance, deployment, and operational support to ensure a stable and production-ready solution.

Simplex HIMS implementation @ INDEX Medical Centre 2019

Implemented Simplex HIMS, a cloud-based SaaS Healthcare Information Management System, covering the complete patient journey from appointment booking to secure electronic medical records. The solution supported doctors and patients workflows, including consultations, clinical findings, prescriptions, endoscopy modules, PACS imaging, MWL integration, laboratory results, and centralized patient data management within a structured database. The scope also included billing, payments, and end-to-end insurance workflows with defined SLAs. Led user training for doctors, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure smooth adoption, along with data migration from legacy systems, validation of historical records, and prescription verification aligned with ICD-10 and HL7 standards to ensure compliance, data integrity, and operational continuity.

Microsoft 365 E5 Platform Upgrade & Security Enablement 2024

As part of a broader modernization effort, the organization upgraded its collaboration and productivity platform to Microsoft 365 E5. The scope included migration from legacy email and file systems to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive, along with identity and access integration, tenant configuration, and enablement of E5 security and compliance capabilities to replace fragmented legacy environments. The upgrade also introduced enterprise-grade device and data security, including endpoint protection, conditional access, and data loss prevention (DLP) controls to safeguard information across users, devices, and locations. Delivery was structured to ensure business continuity, with migration activities carefully sequenced and coordinated across IT teams, vendors, and business users. User adoption was supported through structured training sessions, guidance materials, and hands-on support, while data validation, functional testing, and post-upgrade stabilization confirmed service integrity. Security, governance, and compliance controls were embedded into the platform design, resulting in a centrally managed environment that improved collaboration, strengthened security posture, and simplified ongoing operations.

Enterprise Network Infrastructure Transformation 2025

The organization's enterprise network infrastructure was upgraded to establish a standardized, high-performance connectivity platform across 25 branches, supporting business-critical systems and daily operations. The scope included network design and implementation using Cisco Meraki, enabling centralized cloud-based management, improved visibility, and consistent configuration across all locations. Core switching, access switching, enterprise wireless infrastructure, and next-generation firewalls were deployed to enhance performance and strengthen network security. Execution required coordinated rollout activities across multiple sites while maintaining uninterrupted business operations. Secure site-to-site connectivity was implemented to interconnect all branches, with firewall policies and network segmentation enforced to protect applications and data flows. Coordination with vendors, internal IT teams, and facility stakeholders ensured site readiness and smooth deployment. Configuration standards, security controls, and performance validation were applied throughout delivery, followed by formal testing and controlled handover to operations, resulting in a stable, scalable, and centrally managed enterprise network environment.

Data Center Modernization & Resilience Upgrade 2025

This project focused on modernizing the enterprise data center to strengthen resilience, operational stability, and alignment with long-term organizational objectives. The scope covered solution evaluation, design, and implementation of Huawei FusionModule 800 as the core integrated data center platform. Key upgrades included rack infrastructure, centralized monitoring, and full power and cooling redundancy to eliminate single points of failure and improve availability of critical systems. Execution required close coordination with facilities and civil teams to align technical requirements with building constraints, safety standards, and physical layouts. The project also included implementation of a fire-rated data center environment with an integrated fire detection and fire extinguishing system, along with structured network cabling, optimized connectivity, and enhanced physical security controls. Continuous engagement with top management ensured the design and delivery remained aligned with organizational goals. Vendor activities, internal teams, and technical dependencies were controlled throughout execution, with formal testing and acceptance completed prior to operational handover, resulting in a resilient and future-ready data center environment.

Centralized CCTV & Access Control Modernization 2025

The organization's physical security environment was modernized to establish centralized visibility, stronger access control, and improved operational oversight across 25 branches. The project involved upgrading legacy surveillance and access systems to a Hikvision-based CCTV and access control platform, enabling high-definition monitoring, advanced analytics, and tighter security controls. A centralized control room was established at HQ, allowing real-time access to live CCTV streams from all branches through a unified monitoring interface. The solution was enhanced with AI-based analytics to detect events, generate alerts, and notify relevant stakeholders proactively. Facial recognition-based access control was introduced to modernize entry management, strengthen security, and reduce manual intervention. As part of the implementation, access control data was leveraged to enable automated employee attendance tracking, which was later integrated with the HRMS system. Delivery required close coordination with facilities, security teams, vendors, and IT stakeholders to align installations, testing, and operational handover. The outcome was a fully centralized, intelligent security environment that improved visibility, response time, and operational efficiency.
